RESEARCH
Independent research, historical enquiry and long-form analysis.
Research is a major part of my work across writing, business and my wider projects. I’m particularly interested in taking broad or complicated subjects, developing focused questions and using evidence from a range of sources to reach considered conclusions.
This page brings together my completed and ongoing research projects, from formal academic work to independent enquiries.
FEATURED RESEARCH
American Eugenics and Nazi Eugenic Policy, 1900–1945
Extended Project Qualification · A* · 2026
My Extended Project Qualification investigated the extent to which the American eugenics movement influenced the development of Nazi eugenic policy between 1900 and 1945.
The research examined American sterilisation and immigration policy, German racial hygiene, the development of Nazi eugenics, and the connections between American and German researchers, institutions and legislation. The completed project was awarded an A*.
CURRENT RESEARCH
Across the Atlantic
American Eugenics and the Development of Nazi Racial Policy, 1900–1945
Historical Research · In Development
Building on the questions raised by my EPQ, I am developing a substantially larger enquiry into the relationship between American eugenics and Nazi racial policy.
The research will examine the transatlantic exchange of eugenic ideas, legislation, academic research and institutional relationships, while exploring both the influence of American precedents and the limits of that influence as Nazi racial policy developed and radicalised.
This research will form the basis of my planned book, Across the Atlantic.
FUTURE RESEARCH
My research interests extend beyond any single subject. Future projects will be added here as they develop, including independent research across history, business and other areas connected to my work and interests.
I’m particularly interested in projects that allow a specific question to be explored in depth, combining primary and secondary material with critical analysis rather than simply summarising an existing subject.
New completed research and ongoing enquiries will be published here over time.
